We drove up to Utah to ski with our good friends Paula & Bruce.
We picked them up at the Salt Lake City Airport and drove up to Park City.
Paula & I are both "walking wounded" and couldn't ski this time, but we found other amusements to keep us busy while the guys hit the slopes. Canyons, Deer Valley, and Park City.
The weather was pretty bad the first few days.
Warm, slushy snow, and overcast.
George said they skied sun, white-out, rain and snow all in one day.
Thankfully the weather improved by the 4th day and they did get in some really good runs.
Oh, yes. That was the week of the avalanches.
We all had friends and family calling to make sure we were all right.
I loved one message. "Hi. Heard there were avalanches where you were. If you aren't buried in one, give us a call".
Paula & Bruce at Deer Valley
Deer Valley Resort. George & Bruce really liked Deer Valley, because no snowboards
Paula & I took a tour of the Olympic Village. These 2 bronzes are outside the museum.
I guess buffalo was the theme because there were several statues around.
OK. Chicago has the cows, Minneapolis has Peanuts,This Olympic Village has buffalo
This is the start of the bobsled run
A shot down the bobsled run
You can pay for bobsled lessons. I think they said $400. Guaranteed fast
